One flack created the legend that I had been blown up in an air crash during the war, and my face had to be put back together by way of plastic surgery. The story behind Palance's face was repeated numerous times (including in respected film reference works), but upon his death, several obituaries quoted him saying that the entire story had been contrived: "Studio press agents make up anything they want to, and reporters go along with it. His distinctive cheekbones and deep-set eyes were said to have been the result of reconstructive surgery. His face was said to have become disfigured while bailing out of a burning B-24 Liberator bomber during a training flight over Southern Arizona (where Palance was a student pilot). The thing which makes me reluctant to install this is that I’ve read reports that it takes 5-10’ to update some databases (like charts) after which you need to restart your GTN to install them that’s usually either when I’m ready to taxi or to take off, so it sounds very annoying. Then to get it into your GTN750 you have 4 choices: There’s a sync function between the two so you don’t need to transfer (although some people don’t sync and I agree there are situations where you wouldn’t want to, like having a different wpt selected on box 2). That looks like a great panel and the way you describe it (making everything go via the HSI) is what I have in my plane. One could even have a second selector switch to enable the autopilot to be driven from either EHSI, for extra redundancy, but that would be a separate Field Approval because of a required change to the autopilot AFMS, so I have carefully avoided installing that feature (everything on the RHS is TSOd and used for monitoring only). The ARINC429 roll steering would go from either GPS (so, one would need a selector switch) to the LH SN3500 EHSI which implements roll steering conversion and drives the KFC225 such that ILS and LPV are transparent to the autopilot (no funny extra button presses to get around the fact that the KFC225 doesn’t know about “GPS” when flying in APR mode). Interestingly the full-TKS control panel would also just about fit into the centre stack which is the best place for it. It seems the best option today, unless one argues that Avidyne is a credible alternative. I am now looking at doing this (rather roughly photoshopped) image MOCA doesn’t have a date yet for when free admission will begin, though Biesenbach did tell the NY Times that the museum will “work on the rollout immediately. Like The Broad, MOCA plans to charge admission for special exhibits. The Broad (which is across the street from MOCA’s Grand Avenue location) and the Marciano Art Foundation, opened in 20, respectively, offering free general admission. Offering free entry to the museum aligns MOCA with two of LA’s newest art museums. It’s a big development for Biesenbach, who has only been on the job for about seven months, coming on as director in a time of turmoil for the museum that included the cancellation of its annual gala-a major fundraiser for the institution. “MOCA should feel like a public library where you can go and have access to culture.” “I think many of us are at a point where we understand that museums should not be ivory towers,” he said. MOCA’s director, Klaus Biesenbach, said he has long been an advocate of making museum entry free. “Charging admission is counterintuitive to art’s ability and purpose to connect, inspire, and heal people,” Powers told the Times. The donation will also help expand MOCA’s education programs and hire public-facing staff. The museum, which has locations on Grand Avenue in Bunker Hill and on Alameda Street in Little Tokyo, is able to eliminate its $15 general entry fee thanks to a $10 million donation by its board president, Carolyn Clark Powers. on weekdays.Los Angeles’s Museum of Contemporary Art will soon offer free general admission, the New York Times reports. Free general admission is a step towards making the museum a more inclusive cultural and civic hub.” “We hope to increase accessibility and engagement with our visitors. ![]() The change is a major moment for MOCA, board Chairwoman Maria Seferian added in a statement. For the 2018 fiscal year, box office revenue totaled $1.3 million at MOCA, less than 7% of the museum’s annual budget. 13, admission to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) will be free every Thursday for the rest of the year. Revenue from general admission is typically low at museums. Powers’ gift will cover the cost of a free admission policy for the next five years, the museum said. The call for free admission has been sounded for years by various people, including Los Angeles Times art critic Christopher Knight. MOCA general admission for adults has been $8 to $15. “As a civic institution, we should be like a library, where you can just walk in.” “We are not aiming at having more visitors or larger attendance, but we’re aiming at being more accessible, at having open doors,” Biesenbach said in an interview. Removing financial barriers and making the museum more accessible is part of MOCA Director Klaus Biesenbach’s “civic-minded” vision for MOCA, he has said. About 700 guests, about 300 of them artists, leapt to their feet and applauded when Powers announced the news. The event, inside the MOCA’s Geffen Contemporary satellite space in Little Tokyo, was something of a 40th birthday party for the museum. Powers made the announcement during dinner at the museum’s annual benefit Saturday night. ![]() LOS ANGELES - The Museum of Contemporary Art announced Saturday that it will make admission free - a switch made possible by $10 million gift from MOCA board of trustees President Carolyn Powers. ![]() The other thing that mineral oil is really good at is being non-irritating to the skin. It is a great emollient and moisturizer working mainly by occlusivity.
